What is a typical day like?
Typically, our programs include six and a half days per week of organized therapy and supervised personal time. Every patient joins group therapy and has individual therapy sessions.
Depending on the program, there might be extra types of treatment like adventure-based therapy, group meetings about spirituality, information on overcoming chemical dependency, and sessions focusing on specific recovery aspects. It’s important for everyone to attend 12-step meetings as part of the program regularly.
What should I bring?
- Alcohol-free hairspray in a sealed pump bottle
- Shampoo, conditioner, body lotion (including cocoa butter lotion; all products MUST be in store packaging)
- Hair dryer/ flat-iron/ clippers
- Safety shaving razors
- Perfume/cologne (2 oz or less only)
- Mouthwash (alcohol-free only)
- Laundry detergent/ dryer sheets
- Alarm clocks (with no radio)
- Framed photos (no glass)
- Vaporizer juices (must be sealed and labeled, cannot be any alcoholic/drug flavor)
- Long distance landline calling card (allowed but not necessary because our phones no longer require a calling card)
What not to bring
- Alcoholic beverages or illegal substances
- Open tobacco products
- Outside food or candy (with exception of individually wrapped hard candy)
- Electronics and chargers (cell phones, computers, cameras, USB drives, headphones/earbuds, etc.)
- Firearms/knives/straight razors/scissors
- Nail file, glue, polish, or remover (nail clippers cannot have a metal file attached)
- Any product in an aerosol can (excluding shaving cream)
- Products may not have alcohol listed in the first 5 ingredients (with the exception of shampoo and conditioner)
- Over-the-counter medications (including nasal spray and eye drops)
- Previously opened chapstick
- Hand sanitizer

Note: The confidentiality of all information, including patient and family/significant other identity, discovered during participation in any Bradford Health Services program is protected by Federal law and regulations. Bradford Health Services or its program participants may not say to a person outside Bradford Health Services’ program that a patient or family member/significant other has attended the program, or disclose any information identifying a patient or family member/significant other, unless:
1. the patient/family member/significant other consents in writing as required by Federal regulations;
2. the disclosure is allowed by a court order; or
3. the disclosure is made to medical personnel in a medical emergency.
